Prayer bulletin n°2

& Français sans Frontières

French Summer Project to Croatia & Bosnia-Herzigovina
from 16 to 29 August 2008

Prayer bulletin n° 2

Two-thirds of our Balkans team met for planning and prayer on June 29 near Grenoble

Dear friends,

We are less than 48 hours from our scheduled departure from Grenoble—Saturday morning at 5am Paris time—for Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina. All material preparations for our team of 24, at least on the French side, are completed. All that is left is buckling our bags...

On the eve of our departure on this new missions venture, we sense more than ever our personal weakness, incompetence, fragility, poverty... Without the work of God’s Spirit, we have little or nothing to offer our brothers and sisters in Croatia and Bosnia or our future friends with whom we hope to share Good News.

Our experience in the practice of gospel mission leads us to believe that both difficult obstacles and unexpected opportunities await us at Kamp Fokus in Gracac, and in Split, Croatia, as well as in Stolac and Mostar, Bosnia-Herzegovina. But in order to overcome the obstacles and take advantage of the opportunities, we need your prayers for the following:

  • God’s protection on the heavily trafficked routes in France, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia and Bosnia, especially this Saturday, as well as Friday and Saturday, 29 and 30 August
  • God’s presence among us as a combined team of 24 at Kamp Fokus from 16 to 21 August (construction project, times of worship, teaching moments, contacts with fellow Spanish team members as well as the local Croatian population); in Mostar in Bosnia from 25 to 27 August (humanitarian project with local church as well as contacts at Bible Institute and French institute); and in Split from 27 to 29 August
  • God’s power and blessing on our separate projects, that is at Kamp Fokus from 21 to 25 August (team of 12 will continue work project) and in the city of Stolac in Bosnia (other team of 12 will lead a first-ever French outreach class among catholic, orthodox and muslim Bosnians, in partnership with a local non-profit, Svi Zajedno)
  • Danijel and Eva Mrsic, leaders of an evangelical church in Split
  • Thierry Mirone and Ben Beckner, leaders of the French summer mission project
