“In Him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in Him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by His spirit.”
(Eph. 2:21, 22)

Dear friends and prayer partners,
As we write these lines, it is our desire for you, your families and churches to be a holy temple, a dwelling through which God lives and touches others.
We are deeply thankful for your continued prayers, letters, encouragement and financial
support. You are a part of what the Lord is doing in our lives and in this part of the world.
Many things have happened in this first half of the year 2008. More about it throughout the next lines and images.

Alpha course (February to April): An average of 15 people attended our 6th Alpha course. Some brought their friends to the Alpha weekend, where pastor Ivan Kovacevic from Zagreb was the speaker. After finishing the course, 5 of them are continuing with the Alpha discipleship course based on the book of Philippians. Pray for their conversion: Mirjana, Seka, Renata, Ursula, Ivan.

Awana children’s club (October- May): God provided of a school sports hall to be used this
year. Around 25 children have been coming every Saturday, from several churches in Split and from an orphanage. Pray for new friends who have started attending. On May 31st we will have
Awana Open in a public park, where we expect to meet new families.

Weekly church family life:
· Children are excited about their upcoming summer camp (June 28 -July 5). We will
invite children from Bosnia too. If you would like to sponsor a child to attend the
camp, we will be thankful. The cost for the transport and camp is 100 euros per child.
This year children are collecting money for Mufi, the first Croatian young man (gypsy)
working as a volunteer at the Christian ship “Logos Hope”. They have collected 500
euros until now!

· W omen: It was wonderful to see the women bring so many friends to the
evangelistic meeting held on Jan 19th. Through the songs, testimony, pantomime
and Word, the message was clearly given. As a result, some decided to come to the
Alpha course. The MOPS group meets every second week, while the older women
meet every Thursday for prayer and Bible study.

· T eenagers and youth: They attended a youth conference last weekend in Zagreb.
We enjoy seeing them help with the works at Focus camp. They will have their
summer camp in August 4-9.

· The three family cell groups meeting on Fridays continue growing as they study the
Word and engage in missions projects.

FOCUS camp project (Gracac, area of Lika) : The works continue every week, with a team spending 3 days at the site. We are thankful for each one of your gifts which allows us to buy materials and work. We have been encouraged to see the sacrificial giving of our believers. Now we are in the process of arranging the surrounding, building the first house and preparing the land to put tents for this summer's camp. We are excited to have three working teams come and help us: from Sweden (July 6-18), from France (August 16-29) and Spain. Please, continue praying for finances and the works.

Missions:
It has been a privilege for our local church to be part of the work of the Lord in our neighboring
countries by giving gifts, visiting churches and inviting them over. The youth group recently
visited the new church in Bugojno, Bosnia, that family Begovic is starting. Next week another cell
group will visit them too and help cleaning a park. We are planning to visit our brothers and sisters in Montenegro soon. We have been blessed by many who, throughout the years, have given to us. Now it is time for us to bless others!

Fellowship with other Split churches: In February we had a bowling tournament followed
by a football match in April. On May 1st we enjoyed a day out together in the nature with a
good plate of homemade beans!

Family: Danijel’s family is doing well. His father just spent two days at the camp helping with the works. His niece Dominique has settled well in Split and the church, and is working at the shop of a church family. We appreciate your prayers for Eva’s father. His second surgery of the trigeminus nerve went well but now he is slowly and painfully recuperating from an injured vertebra, caused when he fell a month and a half ago. This was diagnosed after two weeks of tests at hospital.

* June 2-6: Eva will attend a mentorship conference for women in Sarajevo, Bosnia

* Alpha discipleship, Awana club, mission trips
* Focus camp project: summer teams, finances
* Summer chidren and teen/youth camps
